Maybe a classic black and white.

Maybe paint a contrast color on the step risers to co-ordinate with your colors.

All of those pictures look corny and cheap as hell. Pure garbage! Add some elegance to your home with some wrought iron spindles and be done with it. Many youtube videos show how to do it yourself.

What's the geometric steel shape at the top of your photo? If that's a light fixture or art piece that you really like and are planning to keep in the entryway, maybe change the banister and balusters to similar square steel tubing, and paint treads or risers a coordinating gray?

@ Tony Montana @ Evelyn Gorfram. that is your opinion. I think it's unfair to the OP to express that opinion in this manner. The OP might like these designs, as well as the clients who have chosen these styles from the designers who worked with these clients..

They are options in interior design and are considered good design options.

@LB Interiors, you are quite right. I apologize, and I have deleted the text of that post. (I left the post up because I hate when I see references to posts that have disappeared entirely.) I meant to be supportive of your comment to Tony, but wound up doing exactly the same thing I had meant to criticize.

One of the tougher parts of design seems to be achieving a balance between exercising one's sense of taste and letting oneself get carried away by ones own preferences.

I would change the Main post to one sleek straight piece then take off all the white ...or paint them black ....or ..eliminate ...

It would help to see more photos of your furniture and style but here is what I did ..

You’ve already got the white risers so the most cost effective solution would be to paint (have painted or stained) the banister and steps/trim as shown in the first example photo). However if you go that route it would mean changing wood trim nearby. I had a full staircase remodel (changing wood to metal or glass) quoted and it definitely made no sense to spend $25k on a staircase remodel for us, also very time consuming, about a week without access to the staircase) so we chose to have it painted. It looks good.

I had similar, hired a stair company to replace the baluster & spindles with something simpler. They also restained it to match my new walnut hardwood. Turned out beautiful .... cost a little over $3k but made a huge improvement.

Attractive options suggested; but you want it to still FIT the house. As requested earlier we really need more clues to the rest of your design choices/style of the house to make educated suggestions.

I like Beverly's second picture, with the square newel post and soft gray color, as a way to tie the modern feeling of your light fixture in with the traditional style of your home.

I personally wouldn't invest to much into the stairs. Next owner isn't gonna like it and want to change it also. I would get some nicer entry doors instead. It would make a much much bigger impact in that entry. Get some really nice doors that only an idiot would change.

Hi ccrmwll, how high are your ceilings? Can you get the same lighting but in a lesser scale?

You can either enhance your stairway area by giving it an accent wall with galvanized rail and spindles. Gallery wall maybe.

I think something like this would work in your home:

i think ur stairs match whats already in the entry, other than the cool light. id leave it or risk creating a slew of new necessary changes as a chain reaction!

I really like the wrought iron spindles it adds a different dimension.
