Silly photo but maybe you will understand, PopMama.

My first beefsteak (that wasn't deformed ;o). I was so pleased to see it ripe that I just grabbed it, not noting the variety. I imagine that it is Goliath but there is a group with several Big Beefs. Goliath is like a week earlier than Big Beef but, of course, the ID stickers are so close to the center of the plants that I cannot easily identify similar varieties in my sprawling tomato patch!

I do have a volunteer here at home (one in the distant garden as well). The one here is ripening a cherry. I think that it may be a Coyote but it may also be from one of the golden hybrids that I grow. Probably not going to be happy if it's from a hybrid. What I'm especially pleased with at the moment is what it has accomplished in its location -- no afternoon sun! It's right between the rhubarb and the greenhouse east wall. Darned early for so little sunlight!

It keeps getting better every day too! I planted so many seeds hoping a few would grow and bloom and they are prolific!

I am finding that the swallowtails love zinnias

My co-worker has a zinnia patch too and she has some awesome pics of swallowtails on zinnias from this week. So yes, you are right! I haven't seen any on mine but maybe it's just timing.

I just started seeing Painted Lady butterflies on mine. LOTS of butterflies!
