I don't see how you would be able to install the shingles any other way.

Wrong material choice.

The roofing company actually has dome experience which was hard to find and had no issue with our choice. There were a few of their options we liked that they said we should avoid and most of them cost more.

Of course the better materials cost more. You have a freaking Bucky house for goodness sake! Everything costs more. Building materials are flat and square. Domes, aren’t. It triples the labor to do anything to have something so 3 bubbles away from the norm. You need a commercial contractor with a commercial grade solution. Then you never need to touch it again and you only spend money once. My point was they had no problem with our choice in materials and we were willing to spend more if there was a better option.

Properly vetted, experienced with the product and the application, willing to warranty their work. Sounds good to me.

Make sure they all wear tin foil hats, while applying the shingles :)

Are they planning 100% coverage with Ice and Water Shield? If so, then what covers it is almost moot. That just needs to be workmanlike and neat. If not, I wouldn't move forward with them.

Thanks! Tear off has begun. They have offered two solutions both of which they claim will not void the warranty. Unfortunately, the new shingles will not look as nice as the current ones (old mansonsite woodruf that lasted since 1984 even with the lawsuit issue). We are going to have stain the house much darker. Thanks again.
