Growing Tomatoes

I had a lot earlier this year and they made or are making big tomatoes.. Now there are very few yellow blossoms and the tomatoes are not making any more blossoms.. Is this the normal thing that happens when it gets hot? Also, I have a lot of tiny little tomatoes and my neighbor says they will probably not do anything by the end of the season. I learned a lot this year, and think next year I will do a better job of picking tomatoes suited for this desert area. I have learned if you want a tomato that tastes like a tomato, don`t plant a yellow or orange one!

It would be helpful to know where you are. Blossom drop in tomatoes, all tomatoes, does increase in frequency with hot weather. Whether or not they will produce more by the end of season depends on when it starts to get cold in your area. Tomatoes have a productivity sweet spot between about 60 and 90 degrees fahrenheit.

I live in Reno. It isn`t blossom drop, it is just no new blossoms are forming. Tomatoes will start dying down after Oct 1 or so in this area The tomatoes I have are getting big and are starting to turn red. But those tiny ones, I don`t know if they will grow or not.
