Interesting suggestion. Having the newest comments at the bottom allows people to read or scroll through all the comments beforehand so we know what had been said.

If you want to get to the bottom fast, just click on the Comment box under the original post. That takes you to the end of all the comments, and then you can scroll back. I do that all the time for discussions that I have already read so I only want to see the most recent comments.
