He was a good looking cat, and it sounds like he had a fine life. You must miss him. Pets seem to age so fast, and it's always heartbreaking when they go.

We lost our little gray cat this January. The vet was nice enough to store Grace so we could bury her in spring. She's in the hosta bed with Amazing Grace. I still haven't found one for Chip , the orange cat that died in October. Maybe Orange Marmalade would work.

Aw, it always breaks your heart when animals go away. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat and have previous kitties that passed away. Good hosta for good kitty.

I had 2 cats with hyperthyroidism some years ago. It's caused by a non-cancerous tumor growing on the thyroid gland and stimulating it to produce too much thyroxin. You can either treat it with pills, but then you have to catch and pill the cat twice a day, and because the tumor is still growing, up the dosage every so often, or you can do radiotherapy. I was fortunate to live within commuting distance to Hypurrcat, a special facility for hyperthyroid cats. Hypurrcat and similar facilities inject a dose of radioactive iodine. Iodine has an affinity for thyroid tissue and goes right there, killing the tumor. You have to leave the cat there for 10 days until their radioactivity drops to safe levels for you to be around. It has like a 98% cure rate. This treatment gave me several more great years with my beloved kitties.

I have done the same .Jackie is my profile pic .Now she is the sweet butterfly in my garden. This was her little trail that she would use . I would find her under my sum and subs often.

I'm very sorry for your loss. They're our furry family members and are very integrated into our daily routines. A place in the garden is a heartwarming tribute.
