What fixtures are you looking at.

American Standard is a decent brand for toilets and sinks but Kohler is a bit better and in my experience, for toilets, Toto toilets are the best.

In terms of faucets etc., Delta and Moen make well priced stuff. Delta has a lifetime guarantee.

Here's what I bought for my bathroom renovations:

If you have a tub and shower: Hansgrohe 27143001 Croma Showerpipe

Hansrohe Talis S all for kitchen sink

I also considered these but opted for the Talis instead:

They may be recommending American Standard because that is their major supplier. Years ago plumbing supply houses/showrooms could only sell one or the other, so in my area if you wanted to look at both you had to go to 2 different places.

American standard has 2 different whites so be cautious if mixing brands. Kohler makes great products too.

I happen to sell alot of Delta faucets with no worries.

Just like anything else you have to see what looks best for your plan then look into reviews

Another thing to consider is who owns the brand you're looking at and where they're made.

Lixil Groups American Standard acquired Grohe and now handles their customer service department. Like American Standard, both are no longer manufactured in North America or Germany.

Unlike Kohler, Delta/Peerless doesn't just assemble products in North America but sill manufactures most of it's parts here too.
