I for one, am still here taking care of my plants, watching the mouse ears pop up on leaves put down in June. Also watching Gloxinias (Sinningias) flower that I started from seed this past winter. Not a whole lot of questions, but love reading about AVs every day. You're not alone here, Yolanda.

Ok, Yolanda, I'll bite. How about some photos of some of my new favorites?

Next up is Jersey Cloud Chaser, one of Bob Kurzinski's newest standard hybrids. I was lucky enough to snare a leaf at the last Morris County NJ Av club show of which he is a member. The flowers are on the small side, but they are one of the most unusual I've ever seen.

Below is Carolina Elegant Affair, which I bought in April from Jack's Violets on Ebay. Huge flowers and so delicate. I love it.

Finally, below is LE Rings of Saturn, also from the Violet Barn. I'm really getting into the Russians.

Earle, Judy, I too am watching my Too Much Pizzazz put up mouse ears. I also have some leaves that are finally putting up mouse ears. My husband brought up Too Much Pizzazz some time in March, I believe, and he liked it. I had some health problems and could not go downstairs into the basement. The hip broke. It seems to be getting better, but I need my AVs to feel good for me to feel better.

Judy, the hip is better, and now I can walk further and longer. It happened in northern Ontario, and since there was no surgeon where I fell, I ended up with a tour of the north. I think I am a lot better, thank heaven. Thanks for asking.

I have a lawyer who calls me randomly to replace his secretary when she is on holidays. I will be going to work for two weeks from the 26th of August. I just have to figure out where the escalators are in some of the subway stations. Otherwise, it is a walk outside.

The AVs need me, I agree. Some of them need repotting. I saw one that was repotted in December, 2017. Hopefully I can do it this week. We are planning a trip to northwest Ontario, to Kenora, where my older daughter lives. She will be baptizing her seven-month old next weekend.

I also want some of my AVs to flower so I can give some away to our parish's rummage sale in October. There is no point i giving them just green leaves.

I guess, like the rest of everyone, we all have busy lives, and keep giving ourselves more to do.

Summer blooming has slowed, though I generally have a few blooming on the separate stands. I have some leaves down, and am due for some first-time blooming from a few new plants in the fall.

Hi All, I have some blooming, but I do not have room for any new plants until I have some go to the rummage sale in October. We have about 1,100 sq. ft., so the house is small. Maybe I will have to move some to the window in the laundry room. I will have to see.

Too Much Pizzazz and two of my ACA's Inquisitive George are blooming. There is also Sapphires, which has just begun to bloom, It is such fun to see them blooming.

Aegis, please tell us what we're looking at on your shelf. They're beautiful. I love the pink flowers on the one on the right, and the gorgeous scalloped leaves of the one on the left.
