What I mean by "semi-unfinished" is that I'm putting up drywall only because the previous owner did electrical work and I need to cover up the wires to abide by code, or else remove them, which I'd rather not do. It has recessed lighting.

I actually prefer an unfinished, "industrial" look, although I may wish to fully finish the basement in the future. I'd like to keep the concrete floor as is. Since I probably will use the basement primarily for exercise and the other side for laundry, I'll just get some rubber mats. Will I need baseboard moulding if I don't have wall-to-wall flooring?

I would prefer for the walls to not be too bright white, more like white with a tinge of grey to it, maybe even a light grey wall. A paint and primer in one would be ideal. Are any of the paints at Walmart OK, like Color Place or Glidden? I'd rather not spend a lot on just a basement, but if they're no good then I'll cough up more for paint at the Home Depot.

If anyone has any more ideas, I'm open to hearing them.
