I have an old Murphy bed - w accordion style doors that open to the bed that you pull down. It is mounted to the floor very securely. I want to change the way the bed opens to eliminate the doors which bang around and don't provide an easy place for night stands to the side. So many of the newer styles have the mattress foundation serve as the face of the bed when it's in the up position. Just wondering if I can modify the old bed, use the exiting "box" and mount, and purchase a different system for the cabinet "front"? It would need "feet" as well, I've seen a system that rotates over the foot of the bed when in the up/closed position and rotates out to support the bed when it's in the down position.
