Benjamin Moore Aura Bath and Spa paint

Has anyone used this paint recently in a deep color in a small bathroom? I want to use this in Dark Harbor- a deep teal color- in a bathroom that does get very steamy. My daughters use this small bath and - yes there is an exhaust fan but they still leave the walls wet! I read some reviews that said the dark colors can have issues with leaving marks after wiping off toothpaste and steam and wonder if this has been corrected. I also want to use it on the ceiling in the same color. Any thoughts? The paint guy I buy from said he sees no problem with using Regal Select in eggshell (which I used in a larger bathroom) but I don't think he realizes how steamy this small bath gets. Also, I have wiped the walls and did get color off which I would like to avoid. Is Bath and Spa really better for mildew issues? Any recommendations? I am a BM fan but have not used Aura line yet.

I’ve used it twice in a bathroom, dark shade (Gibraltar Cliffs, I believe.) No problems at all! Looks nice and performs well.

Thanks for your input. Gibraltar Cliffs is much lighter than Dark Harbor (and I really want to use it). Anyone else??

Scottie mom, did you use it on the ceiling by any chance? If so, how did that work out? I've read reviews were Reg. Aura (not bath and spa) was used on ceiling with poor results. I'm wondering if a small room would work out better.

I just did it in my bathroom in summer nights (also a dark teal)...but on ship lap. It is annoying to clean. If I use a wipe and rub too hard paint comes off :-/ not sure if that would be same effect on drywall or not but for how exp it was I am disappointing in quality

Maybe you need a bigger fan or to check the ducting? Does this bathroom have some privacy so that your daughter could leave the door slightly ajar to help move the steam out of the bathroom?

In one of our three piece bathrooms we did a wall in a very dark colour using Regal in an eggshell finish. It began showing noticeable dull and shiny sections and wiping just made it worst.

I've since renovated our master bathroom, again I did one wall in a dark colour but used the Aura Bathroom paint. It's only available in a mat flat finish and I think because of this it's much better at hiding moisture marks. Now, after two months the finish is still very even with no shiny spots like the Regal in eggshell.

We used BM Aura matte finish paint in our guest bathroom before the bath and spa version came out, I think. We also used the bath and spa version, also matte finish, in our other two bathrooms, which we reno’d after. We used the matte finish on all the ceilings (mixed up in Super White), and satin finish on all the base molding (same colors as the walls).

No issues with any of them. Well, a minor issue; if you use any products containing benzoil peroxide, and any of it splatters onto the walls, it will leave bleach-like or discolored spots. It probably does this with any paint though.

Brittney, that is a beautiful color and vanity area. I really like how it looks. Sorry you're having issues. I wonder if it is due to the shiplap. Did you use a primer? (Even though supposedly you don't need primer I would think painting wood would require it anyway.)

Leaving door ajar won't work. It isn't in a private area. We have the same fan in our other bathroom. I think it is because the room is so small. And she takes hotter showers!

Cat mom, good to hear you have good results.

I used this pricey paint in my main bathroom that has shiplap. Dislike the uber matte finish. Its very dull. it also shows marks really easily and doesnt clean well as its not smooth to the touch. Regret purchase and i am expecting continous touch ups.
