It looks good to me so far. What did you have planned for the backsplash and floors already? (You did have something planned, right?)

I was thinking of something like this for the backsplash but not sure if it goes.

Add more wood and more natural materials. Pick a subtle COLOR for your backsplash.

I would also do real (medium tone) wood floors to ground all the lightness and bring warmth.

I agree with what others have said - you need something natural, like real wood floors, and some color. You could still keep the backsplash a neutral cream (if you want to do the arabesque, I echo the advice that then the grout must be closely matched, so as not to be too busy with your counters.
It might still be too busy with your counters, so think about subway tiles). Add color in the window blinds. In these photos, note the wood floor and the coral blinds (by Lee Jofa, so they are $$$, but you can find similar for much less):

I would paint vs tiling a backsplash at least to get to right color scheme- i may be one of the few that really does not like the look of a backsplash (maybe i am just a tidy cook- my walls never really have been stained etc) a backsplash behind the stove of course

I love real wood floors but husband is refusing due to kids and pets. That’s a whole other issue with trying to add some warmth.

So you have no wood floors ? What do you have for floors in the rest of the house? As for the kitchen it looks good I would keep the backsplash very simple maybe a gray large format subway tile with matching grout. Add some color with stools a bowl of fruit a vase of fresh flowers a roman blind in a print . If you can’t have wood floor and you don’t have it anywhere else use vinyl plank it still has the look of wood but will not work if you have real wood next to it.

You're off to a great start with your choices so far! Have you considered adding some hardware to your cabinets? Black pulls will give you a nice contrast.

Thank you everyone. Yes, I’m planning on adding some hardware and Roman blinds...I just haven’t got that far yet. Also, adding glass inserts in two cabinets. I’m thinking subway tile for the backsplash. We are redoing the floors throughout our house so we can go in any direction. It is a traditional house but it is two blocks from the beach. I guess I’m just nervous because it’s looking very cold.

The wood items ,like a beautiful wood bowl for fruit , would certainly warm it up plus other kitchen items.

I am not generally a fan of white kitchens but I think yours is lovely so far. I agree with the others that a wood floor would warm it up perfectly but I do understand not wanting wood in a kitchen. Are you open to wood-look tile, or luxury vinyl plank flooring? What about cork floors?

Just wait until everything else is in, it's going to look amazing, I love it so far! We're in FL, have a built in pool and always at the beach, water and humidity everywhere so no wood floors for us. But we still wanted some warmth for the floors, not cold shiny square tile. We ordered the wide plank 47" length porcelain wood-look tile. It's definitely tile it's not trying to be real wood (some people on here get offended by tile trying to look like wood haha) but it has so much warmth and texture!

Yes I am open to Vinyl plank and wood look tile. Just not sure what colors would look good with what I have going on. I have looked through previous discussions on backsplash with this counter and I’m back to square one :)

I think backsplashes are far overrated and unnecessary. I would get a slab of your countertop material and put it on the space above your range. Leave the rest of the walls blank. No matter how subtle the tile, you are adding another element to your space.

I think your space is beautiful but suspect that what you are responding to is a feeling of choppiness. I think that a lack of backsplash and wood floors would do the trick. I have had wood floors in almost all of my kitchens, owned dogs, and have a messy folks in the house. I find them much easier to maintain than tile. They have never stained, don't crack as tile can, no grout lines to clean, spills wipe us so easily.

I'm waiting on backsplash until everything is installed. That can always be added later, don't stress over that. I'd go with a medium or light toned wood-look plank tile if you want tile, it'll bring so much warmth!

I have SW in my kitchen, also with white cabinets. Yours is lovely! As others have recommended, I'd go with something that will allow the SW to be the star. We have wood floors, with a dog, and just love them.

Hey Amanda! I have a toddler, a large german shepherd, and a yellow lab and we have had medium toned bamboo wood floors in our entire house (including kitchen) for over 4 years and they look exactly like the day they were installed. Also, we are not careful with the floors at all.

I have four kids and a St Bernard, and ditto Rebekah (although for me it's white oak, and 3 years.) The sand is something I've never dealt with, though.

Beautiful kitchen. I agree that warm wood floors would be great (or LVP or tiles if you must). And Roman Shades to add color.

Amanda--our backsplash is 2x8 white handmade subway tile from California tile. We have random 2x2 blue relief tiles to pull in the color of our island. Those, plus the tile over the cooktop is from Brittany and Coggs.

Medium brown wood floors and white subway tile backsplash. Period. End of story. Seriously :).

We put Coretec LVP in our basement and are happy with it.

I really love the Acacia pattern. It is the one I wanted, but we went with something with more greys in it (I was outvoted). But I've always loved the medium colors. Pay no attention to the price; we got ours for less than half that price through our contractor.

Yay for deciding on white for the backsplash!

White the arabesque is pretty, that particular one was much too busy with your counters (plus marble is neither stain nor scratch resistant, making it a difficult material to keep clean in a backsplash application). If you really wanted something in that shape, a solid white ceramic would have been a much better choice.

I'm also in the medium-toned, natural-colored wood floors (or wood-look plank).

The problem is everything in your kitchen right now is cold because gray is a cold color. You need color.

What are YOUR favorite colors? Not what's trendy but what you love in terms of color?

And sorry, I wouldn't have compounded the gray/white with a white backsplash. I would have chosen a color I loved since gray/white goes with just about any color.
