Finally posting as season winds down

Sorry to have been absent most of the summer but life got crazy busy. I took tons of photos along the way and have been pollinating like a madwoman, with fat ripening pods everywhere. The season started late but the good news is that it has been a prolonged bloom, with many things still going that are normally wrapped up by now. We had lots of rain in the spring which made the daylily clumps get huge but then there was very little rainfall in June, July and August and everything got seriously dry. In spite of that, the daylilies were glorious this year. We are getting rain today, which is just in time. The gardens are no longer in their glory and weeds and Japanese beetles have taken over....but I will start posting tonight, with many more photos to follow.

These photos are what is still blooming in August......

That was weird! It took forever for the photos to load and when I hit 'submit' my photos were gone. I thought I'd lost the entire post but when I checked, the photos were posted, but very small sized, not like they were for me before. Things seem to have changed yet again. Oh well, I will persist! Here's more (hopefully)…..

I DON'T KNOW IF THESE WILL POST or not.....some aren't showing up for me. I have SO many photos to post but this is hard work getting these up. Very frustrating. Thought by some miracle Houzz would have straightened things out. I will try again tomorrow!

Your Claudine's Charm is very well branched. I wonder if Sings the Blues grows well for you.

Thank you, Mantis. Yes, CC is a wonderful plant here....well branched, tall, loaded with buds, and has been in bloom non-stop since July 14th. She always looks like the above photo, every day. She is amazing. In stark contrast, Sings the Blues is a puny plant that is on the move-out list. Do you or anyone else see the 'missing' photos? I don't see them on my computer and the photos are tiny, not large like they used to be. I had a hard time posting tonight and hope it won't be like this all the time.

NAVAJO PONY looks gorgeous. So does Webster's Pink Wonder.

Thank you, David and Nancy. I attempted to post the missing photos this morning and they still wouldn't post (weird) so I went and found different photos of the same daylily and those didn't post either. I know it's random, like Nancy said, because the sizing would be the same for all my photos since I didn't change anything. Why do some photos work and others don't??? It looks like all these hundreds of photos I took won't ever be seen. Ugh.

All are very pretty. Hard to choose a favorite. I have Claudine's Charm which had many scapes and buds this year.

As for the pics they are not small on my screen and I can always click on them to magnify for a closer view. Doesn't everyone see a magnifying glass when you hover over a pic?

It’s great to see you back posting again, I think everyone of us missed you! Looks like Navajo Pony is working overtime for you this season, it’s lovely. Astral Voyager and Planet Clair caught my eye today, love them. I have only a handful of daylilies finishing up here, will see last blooms this week. Will have only two yellow daylilies blooming into September. So...... Celeste, please keep the blooms coming.

Hi Celeste! Lots of great looking daylilies, and rather than list the favorites, I name the color {purple--surprise!] Spirit of the Dove is still on my want list, such a beautiful flower and color. Glad to see you have a rebloom on such a pretty one. Shuffle the Deck is outstanding and I can't wait for my Claudine's Charm to become a large clump like yours.

I was having the same problem as you in posting, some will, some won't. Most of my pictures were the same size but some wouldn't post and many took a long time, yet others quickly all within the same posts. Made no sense. I started resizing them ALL to around 1000+- pixels and that ended all my problems--all post quickly and all post. I just saved the resized photos to the desktop, and then deleted them when all done.

If you don't have a quick easy way to resize, download Irfanview and its plug-ins. Takes a matter of seconds to resize once you've done a few and get the hang of it. https://www.irfanview.com/

Hi Celeste - The rest of us are starved for daylily blooms, so we welcome as many as you can post. My favorites of these are Claudine's Charm and Shuffle the Deck. I saw Shuffle the Deck on a couple of my tours in Kingsport, TN this year, and was impressed with the clumps I saw.
