Earth Angel and Peach Swirl

I love these roses.

Earth Angel (Christiana/Herzogin Christiana/KO 03/1436-02/KORgeowim/La Belle Rouet/Secret Parfuma), bred by Tim Hermann Kordes (Germany, 2003) and released in Germany (2013) and US (2015). 3.5" light pink and cream old-fashion blooms have strong apple, lemon, rose, sweet fragrance. This rose is very healthy in my garden.








Peach Swirl (TEXpeaswi), a hybrid tea rose introduced in the US by Texas Rose Ventures (2017). Edmund’s' Roses has one of the best descriptions for this amazing rose, "Lavish swirls of peach, apricot and creamy yellow create a breathtaking display. Like a scoop of delectable ice cream, the large fragrant blooms of this phenomenal rose are a delight for the senses; one look, one whiff, and you can't help but come back for seconds. Long canes make this rose perfect for cutting so the decadence of the blooms can be indulged upon indoors, as well."
This rose has everything one can ask for in a rose and more, beauty, form, fragrance, health, vase life... It belongs in my perfect rose category.

    I cant say enough good things about Peach Swirl. I also love taking photos of her. She is so changeable. Her colors start out vibrant but I love when the blooms fade after a few days and slowly meld into pinks then peaches. I am not crazy about stripey roses in general but Peach Swirl and Raspberry Cream Twirl changed that lol. Maybe its the food names? Nah, they are both just extraordinary ;)

    The little tree frogs here adore Peach Swirl. Insects are attracted to the sweet scent and she is a perfect fluffy hiding place. More people should be growing Peach Swirl!

    Check out the large Peach Swirl bloom compared to this grapefruit (the faded pinkish one straight down) then there is another smaller bud just to the right that is more yellow and pink striped on the upper rt corner of the plate.

      Wow Helen! Great job growing these two roses and wonderful photography as well.

      My EA has barely grown after 18 months but maybe next year? Kordes roses are taking a long time to get settled in my garden and I'm not sure why.

      I got Peach Swirl from Alden Lane Nursery in Livermore a couple of years ago and it's been great. Mine is over 5ft tall and produces lovely fragrant blooms. I'm glad I have it!

      Beautiful pics! Does Earth Angel repeat well for you? What other varieties are on your ‘perfect rose category’? I grow both these myself, agree Peach Swirl is an all around winner. Earth Angel is very beautiful for me in spring, the repeat is getting better as it matures, but still not good enough.

      I think some Kordes take a long time to bloom in many gardens, not just yours! It took Mme Anisette and Summer Romance three long years before either one put together a flush. It seems they are just more likely to be vegetative than other roses, not sure why.

      Hi BenT - Thank you for your feedback about Kordes roses! I guess I should be happy that I got a flush from FC and from Bliss Parfuma this year even though they're about 1.5 ft tall. I'm starting to see signs of life from Summer Romance (1.5' x 2) and very faintly from Earth Angel (1 x 1) so I will look forward to Spring 2020 for more roses!

      Sara Ann - Although Peach Swirl has a soft look being a blend of pastel shades, it has a strong presence because each bloom is about 4-5" in my yard and it grows in sprays. It's great a rose all around if you like stripes!

      Ann & Ben, beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing. Peach Swirl is such a wonderful rose that I kept taking its pics many times :)

      Earth Angel doesn't repeat as fast as other roses in my garden but I'm happy it repeats. It is also very young in my garden (2nd year) so I'll wait a bit and see if it repeats faster when it's more mature.

      It's funny that you talked about Mme Anisette. I put mine is a pot near a window next to a fence, and it is growing really tall trying to get some sun. Right now it is about 10ft which I'm happy because I wanted to use it to provide some privacy for the window.

      Sultry, beautiful photos. My most favorite pic is the last one with the grapefruit in it, LOL.

      I guess the reason people don't grow Peach Swirl is because it wasn't widely advertised as other roses. I knew about it through Cori Ann's pic and it surpassed my expectation. Helen

      Thanks Helen :) I think I first learned of Peach Swirl through one of Cori Ann's posts. She had one that she was growing almost as a short climber against a fence. I just fell in love with it. I ordered my Peach Swirl from Edmunds Roses as a bare root. Then I got a few more this year.

      PS ties the roses with yellows, pinks, corals, & peaches together in a bed nicely. She gets up to around 6ft here. She has excellent rebloom.

      She is so great! My nickname for her is Miss Peachy Yum Yum because she is just so yummy lol.

      Certified’s Peach Swirl and Lavender Crush are such amazing new roses, just shows how hard it is to distribute a new variety, even if it’s wonderful and unique. They are both relatively hard to find.
