Thank you all! Flowers, I love La France, I especially love the fragrance. My new PJPII has been blooming one flush after another, very healthy! Kate, Grande Amore is one of those nearly perfect reds, holds up good too, This one is own root and has been healthy so far. New this year.

Kristine, thank you, I appreciate you so much!

Here’s a few more from this morning

This is an own root Peace bush that’s had a few not so great blooms so far, but this one was a pleasant surprise.

    Dark Desire

Quicksilver, love it! Keeps setting on blooms!

Dream Come True, produces lots of blooms.

    Tropicana

Sara, PJPII is so lovely and I know it is one of the most fragrant roses, but I am wondering about it’s growth habit. Is it a typical Hybrid Tea with bare legs that need companion plants to hide? How big does it get for you? Loving Quicksilver too,

Not sure how it is at your house but my PJPll isn’t so cute on his lower half so he is growing with geranium Rozanne. They seem to like each other ok, although I think the Pope is getting a bit tired right now.

Pretty common in my yard as I don’t feed as much as roses like but it’s almost time for everyone to hibernate for football season anyway!

Stephanie, my Dr. Huey PJPII in the ground is bare legged and has always been small, my new potted one on multiflora is very full with lots of foliage all over. The new one is compact, but healthy and has produced lots of blooms. Don’t know how it will do as it becomes more established. I would think in your zone it would have a tendency to be bigger.

Beautiful blooms, Sara... I like Mystic Beauty, as beautiful as Souv de la Malmaison...

Do you find La France to have a sweet fragrance?

    Yay, almost football season!!

Sara Ann, there is something so special about your Tropicana

I always love that lipstick color, not quite pink, not quite coral.

My grandchildren are all LaFrance. I guess I wouldn't be a very good grandma if I didn't get that rose.

You really have a great collection of roses and they all look so healthy

Thank you! Krista, I’ve been impressed with Mystic Beauty so far, even though it took awhile for it to bloom. Yes, I would describe La France’s fragrance as sweet. Kristine, seems like more recently my Tropicana has been that softer shade like you describe, but it can be really bright orange too. Maybe it’s because I have it in a pot, that might be the difference. Your grandchildren have good taste, I love La France. Thanks for those kind words about my collection, I try to make good choices, but probably don’t always make the right ones. But probably more times than not if it doesn’t succeed, it’s either growing in the wrong or spot on it’s something I did or didn’t do!
