We put one in our basement bathroom in our last house (Chicago). Put it on a timer and it was awesome having warm towels when we got out of shower. It replaced our towel bars. We did Runtal, hard wired. It wasn’t cheap but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

We put in towel warmers in all our bathrooms... they’re absolutely fantastic, nothing better than to reach for a warm towel after a shower! We used Amba Jeeves hardwired ones, and have been very pleased with their quality and customer service. Again, not cheap, but well worth the price!

My husband soooo wanted a towel warmer so we put one in. Ours is a Mr. Steam brand. It was difficult to retrofit it on our old house and the mounting posts are not standard 16" on center - more like 15-1/4" on center. We went in from the wall behind it in the next room to put in 2x4's between the joists to mount it on. You probably wouldn't face these issues if installing in new construction or a new remodel. The only place we could install it is far enough away from the shower that you have to get OUT of the shower (dripping all over the floor) to reach your towel. I call it a "glorified towel rack"! Expensive to buy, hired an electrician to hard-wire it, and had to fix the wall in the bedroom afterward. I wouldn't do it again.
