Optimal rug size for oddly shaped room

I have a weird living room with bay windows and a fireplace and am struggling to find a rug that fits. Guides online suggest that an optimal sized rug for the space will be large enough to have the front legs of all furniture on it:



But it's been VERY hard to find a rug that size (roughly 7' x 13')! I'm curious if it's okay to not have ALL the furniture touching the rug [image below], just the seating. In the floor plan below, the TV stand is off the rug. Will this look odd? Should I consider other sizes for this room? Going smaller opens up the options for rugs I like.
