Transition beach kitchen

Planning a transitional all white kitchen at coast. Wondering if a smooth top induction stove would look okay? Every kitchen I see has electric range instead... help.

Absolutely! Plus you aren't heating up the whole kitchen and will have easy clean up. Possibly the ones you see are older. I find when Im looking at comps on Zillow for my area that the kitchens are older and builder grade where they went with cheaper options. Many are for weekend homeowners who I think do not want to spend their time cooking and are going to be eating out or barbequing. Also we have propane and not natural gas. I just don't want to deal with clean up from gas and lifting heavy grates. I have a white coastal home kitchen now and am renovating it with white cabinets. The house came with a cheap Maytag electric glass top range.

I spent months agonizing over the cooktop/range question but knew I wanted induction. I also want it to be an attractive focal point so if I was doing with a cooktop I was planning on doing cabinetry underneath with attractive knobs and "column accents " built into the cabinetry defining the space. I also picked a great wall oven and a combi steam oven. I wanted a 36 inch induction cooktop and there are many great choices.

After I had made my final decisions based on all kinds of logical rational decisions, I found the 48 inch Aga Elise induction range on sale and decided to go with that and picked the midnight blue. To complement that, the island will be done in the same blue while the perimeter cabinets will still be white.

I'm not sure if you want a range or cooktop. I personally don't like the look of the ranges with the controls on a raised back panel. I also don't like the spatial dimensions of a 30 inch cooktop as I find you can't fit big pots on side by side. I didn't love a lot of the 30 inch induction ranges because of the scale. The 30 inch Miele looked good but it didn't have "straddle burners" for a griddle like the 30 inch cooktop had. The GE cafe range was attractive. The 36 inch ones I had looked at were Wolf ( but I didn't like that it only had 2 knobs, I found it aesthetically unbalanced. )Fisher Paykel looked nice.

I haven't started reno yet and obviously haven't installed and used the Aga but I hope it will live up to my expectations. With all my research and indecision, made a gut decision and bought it without seeing it in person.

Will only you be using the house, or do you plan to rent it out? That is a major consideration.
