Hi there,

I have been trying to figure out how to decorate my bedroom for MONTHS now! My husband and I got married a year ago and I moved into his place. When I moved in, he had already bought very nice furniture, i.e. bedframe, matching nightstands, etc. and painted the bedroom walls a light mint green. I love the color of the walls, and the furniture is very nice, although it is not my ideal color choice for that particular wall color, but it would be a shame to waste such nice furniture.

That said, I am trying to figure out how to decorate the walls, while working with what I have. I would have ideally loved to have white furniture with white/tan frames, etc. and go for a beachy feel, but with the dark brown, i don't think that is possible. In the photos below, you'll notice that I have a few black frames on the walls right now, but that is very temporary until I figure out what I want. I personally think the black and brown clash. I don't think they match or compliment the room whatsoever and it is really starting to bother me to the point where I refuse to put anything else up. I would like to get rid of ALL the wall hangings I have now and replace with new decor. As you can see, we have vaulted ceilings, and there is a back part of the room that isn't even in the photo where our TV and a love seat are, so there is A LOT of wall to fill. I hate how bland it looks right now!

I've looked up tons of ideas on decorating with mint green. Most examples I see either do all black everything, or all white everything, i.e. the frames/wall decor also match the furniture. I'm sure at some point I will have to start with a clean slate, but for now, I'd love to be able to figure something out in the meantime. Would love any ideas/advice on how to make this room look great (and like it is actually lived in). Thanks in advance!
