I'm in zone 8 and I love sedum afraid they might freeze where you are. They are so Hardy though you might just try clipping some and growing him in the house for the Winter and covering the rest up with the nice thick layer of shredded mulch and and you'll be surprised they might just pop up next Spring I completely ignore mine during uring the Winter and they look like they're mostly died off but then they come to life when the Sun comes out.

I am in z5 Milwaukee, and have the Autumn Joy sedum. No problems surviving winter.

I have successfully grown and overwintered Autumn Joy for years in zone 3a. We get a lot of snow cover every year.

What they will not survive is overly wet soils in winter, even in very mild zones. As long as your soil is very well draining, most upright sedums (Hylotelephium) are winter hardy to zone 3.

OP here and yes - they survived with winter with no covering! Every single one is coming back beautifully. I just removed the dead stalks last weekend. Thanks all, for the reassurance.

There are several other varieties that go along with Autumn Joy. They are all same easy, just be sure of drainage that is all they need.
