I love my ikea domsjo double apron sink, if you really want cheap. Might be a waiting list though; I waited for 6 weeks for mine.

Actually, just checked and apparently ikea discontinued the domsjo and replaced it with a shallower sink with no soap rack or faucet mount (bowl only). Not popular according to reviews, so disregard my suggestion. Best of luck with other recommendations.

Menards has cute one by Tuscany that is a double apron. Only 6.5" deep inside. $200. Not sure on quality. I have used Tuscany toilets and faucets and they have held up really nicely.

If you are doing a mini-refresh then are you keeping your sink base cabinet? I ask because a traditional apron front sink will not fit on a standard sink base cabinet, but a "short apron" style will. There are not that many "short apron" sinks. Kohler makes two and Elkay makes one at least. The Kohler Whitehaven is cast iron and the Vault is stainless steel. The Vault is less expensive. I think the Elkay one is quartz. The Whitehaven and Vault both come in "tall apron" and "short apron" styles. make sure you order the correct sink.

I also did a refresh and my original intent was to get a new sink base cabinet for a farm sink and stain it to match my cabinets. I had stained other new features to match so that part did not worry me, but I found I was going to pay about $400 for a new unfinished farm sink base cabinet - and that did not include the labor to remove the old and instal the new. I found the Kohler Whitehaven in the "short apron style and even though it was much more then I intended to spend on a sink, I saved by keeping my original sink base cabinet.

I had a two bowl cast iron sink before but everyone said one bowl was better so I made the switch and am very happy. I would have done the uneven low divide Whitehaven, but the small side was on the wrong side for me personally as to how my sink is orientated to my dishwasher. My reason for wanting a 2 bowl was that I was used to using one side for a dish drainer. Many here manage to rarely need a dish drainer, but I have a busy family and rinse lots of recyclables. I keep a dish drainer that has sides in my sink - works fine for me. I also have the sink grills and I love them for the protection of the sink. If I had the uneven low divide, I would use the smaller side with the sink grill as a drainer.

The Ikea Domsjo had a lot of negative post here - cracks and crazing. It was made of fireclay. I haven't heard about the newer one, but fireclay can crack, craze and pit. The Whitehaven is more expensive, but it is cast iron. I got mine online for $960 for 36" single bowl, short apron in white.

I saw the one at Menards - I think it is simply china - one good whack with a frying pan and good-by sink.

After reading up on the concerns of fireclay and the extra expense for changing out my sink base cabinet, I decided to save up a couple of more months and get the Whitehaven. It actually is less than an appliance, but works just as hard. I've had mine 3 years and still love it.
