Beautiful Countertops! What is the wood species?

What can you say about the durability of wood counter tops (especially "finished" tops, as opposed to say a butcher block look)? We are currently remodeling our kitchen and I am interested in a wood counter for my island. Thanks so much! - Patricia

Hi Patricia! Our premium wide plank wood countertops are built to last a lifetime; the marine oil finish that we use is water and stain proof so it would would work great as an island. We do recommend the use of cutting boards when preparing food to protect the surface, but everyday use should not harm the finish at all.
