All my hostas are ugly in the Fall!

Really depends on when hosts blooms. I grow a lot of Lakeside hosta and they tend to be good for long time. Early blooming hostas tend to start folding early.

Pandora, like don, a lot of my hostas are turning brown, even crispy, but not BA.

Well, I dug them up and threw in the trash. I don't want to take chances. All my other hostas are still looking pretty good. This is my second set of Guardian and Earth Angels. There are so many beautiful hostas, I'm crossing theses off my list. Too bad.

Almost ?? So by your song, hostas should look better after a frost than they do now. ?? That would be OK with me.

I think it was more than just the time of year. Like I said all my other hostas still look pretty good. The 2 angels were really brown, spotchy etc.

I wondered if they go dormant that much earlier than everything else or it was some disease. Guess no one here has any experience like this.

Well, as I understand it, even if the leaves are getting ugly, they are collecting the sun and storing it in the rhizome. My poor little Rhino Hide has almost all brown leaves but I’m just letting it do it’s thing! I will try to post some of my uglies if houzz will cooperate........
