I would keep the wall color and cover the floor with a large area rug or custom-cut carpet in a color which can live with the cherry cabinetry.

I agree with felizlady. A rug will tie in the cherry furniture and green walls. If the person who uses this room doesn’t like the wall color, then first find a rug and then change the walls to complement it.

I too would paint it gray or eggshell ...surely there will be photos or paintings on the wall ..and perhaps an area rug ..all will look better with gray or off -white ..
