With the placement of those boxes, you need something flat and horizontal if you intend to use those shelves. The barnlight type above are the right style, but wouldn't be very functional.

A little pricey but would be a nice contrast to the blue walls.

A linear sconce:

If you do some kind of barn light, it will probably need an exposed bulb. Otherwise it will shine directly on the shelf below and produce little usable light.

I like the idea of an exposed sconce, with an Edison bulb. It would fit the space. What about something like this but turned horizontally?

For sconces that high up the wall and behind the bar, we think it would better to have lighting that are statement pieces rather than going with the garden variety goose necks/barn lights or generic exposed sconces.
