Could you not adjust the armscye as well? I'd probably do a sample armscye section out of waste fabric and then once it was a good fit, take it apart and use it to alter the pattern of designs I liked.

I haven't used a Simplicity pattern in quite a while, so I honestly cannot remember the fit of one around the armscye. I would try clipping around the entire armhole (clip all the way to the stay-stitching) and see if that doesn't correct the issue you're having. Good luck and happy sewing!

Thanks, but I'd rather not mess with the armsyce. Any fitting class I've ever had taught that it is difficult to adjust well. I'm just wondering if I should go up a size in Simplicity (I may) or if I need to refine my narrow shoulders adjustment.
