I have a big tv in my bar area too, it’s awesome! Love it so far, I’d consider some fun glass reflective tile to brighten it up a bit. Here’s mine, but it’s in a well lit room with sliding glass doors.

I love this look for a bar, but is it too far from glitz? I think it’s a cool style for a basement pub.

WOW, these are some big bars. I like contrasts and I like metallics around bar areas. I would use the gold you mentioned for contrast and to brighten up the area bit. However I cannot clear see the color of your barstools so not sure if the gold would clash.

We used dark gray metallic tile in our bar area, but our cabinets are a cherry color. Not sure why the picture comes in sideway!

I think you should be careful with your backsplash choice. Your basement bar looks more like a kitchenette. If this was my design dilemma, I'd ramp up the cool factor and go for an edgy look and stay away from traditional. And perhaps add more bar decor.. The blank side of your fridge, maybe add a wine rack from floor to ceiling

Brown Dog - exactly right. I am absolutely trying to go edgy bar vs traditional kitchen look. I’ve got a bunch of gold and black accents but need more. We just are not big bar people to have a traditional looking bar. And the stairs are directly to the right in the picture so not space to go for a longer seating area.

The tile is called Moonrock Mosaic. It is a very dark charcoal metallic. I remember I had to order them a few times as they are delicate.
