Can you get a closeup? I'm guessing they are a beetle of some sort just based on the antennae (which are not thripsy at all), but all i can really tell is that it's a thrips-shaped black thingy. :)

Taking your image and greatly lightening it revealed the very short wing covers, exposing much of the abdomen. This also show up in the one "curled" individual, above.

The clubbed antennae are also another clue.
