What should I do with these cuttings?

I posted a few weeks ago about taking cuttings from a pear tree that a friend was having cut down to put up a fence. I know it's the wrong time of year to take cuttings, fruit trees usually aren't done through cuttings, and so on.... but I gave it a shot anyway.

I put it in an aeroponic setup I've grown stuff in before, and it's been 2-3 weeks now. I took all leaves off when I put them in, and they've been bubbling 30 minutes on/30 minutes off that whole time. No roots yet, save for a couple of very small things that *may* be roots, but they are less than 1/8" long and may just be fibers from the bark. I'm not sure yet.

Regardless, all of the cuttings are still springy, and have recently started sprouting leaves from buds. My question is should I let the leaves grow, or take them off? I would think taking them off would put energy into the rooting, right?
