How to replace escutcheon for shower diverter

My brother has already replace the other fixtures in his bathtub/show, but he does not know what escutcheon to buy to replace this one. We cannot identify the mfg for this one and want to know if we can replace it with an escutcheon from any mfg or does it have to be the same? Of course he wants to replace the handle as well. He replaced the bath faucet and the shower head already, both of which were fairly easy, although I had to help him remove the bath faucet.

Can anyone identify the mfg of this escutcheon?

We had a pressure-balanced shower control like that one and within 10 years it started to limit the temperature of the water so that halfway through a shower it was giving cooler water. When we had a flood and needed to replace the water heater and that did not help the problem, I had the plumber look at it. He said there was an adjustment screw, but it had become so stuck that it could not be adjusted. He said we had to replace the whole control, so we lived with it until the bathroom remodel. So... if your brother cannot identify this unit, it may not be a bad thing to replace it and get a shiny new control.

Hi Lars, I am pretty sure it is Moen. I think it is Monticello.

Here are some links you may find helpful.

It looks like a Moen. As long as you are replacing things, you should replace the cartridge as well.

Thanks for the ID - I do agree that it looks like Moen, and so now we can buy the replacement escutcheon. The cartridge is working fine, and my brother does not want to get into messing with that. All he wants is a cosmetic change, so that the escutcheon will match the rest of the fittings, which are brushed nickel.

I've bought plumbing supplies from Ferguson, about $4K worth in the last month, and so they should probably be able to help me. I'll send the photo to them.

Ferguson got back to me right away and confirmed that the old escutcheon is Moen Monticello! They are going to send me some options for replacements.

I've always gotten wonderful service at Ferguson, glad they could help. The more I've bought there the better the discount.

I've also gotten good service at Ferguson, and for the replacement escutcheon plus handle, their price was lower than Amazon. I'll have my brother pick one out from the selection I was given.

Ferguson was good about taking a return on a pair of vanity faucets that my plumber said would not work. I replaced them at Ferguson with ones that cost a fraction of what I had originally selected, and they gave me a complete refund with no restocking charge.
