Remove the mirror??

this is the wall we see upon entering our home. mirror for dayssss. would love to modernize and update it plus also possibly add a cut out to allow natural light from the windows behind it in. thoughts on a cut out in the larger mirrored wall with wooden accents and black paint (other photos) or would that be too dark? we would also accent the other mirrored wall attached to it and the one to the right of it so it looks consistent. thoughts? open to any suggestions.

I would look into removing both of those partial walls and opening up the space completely. They are creating an awkward separation and detracting from the beauty of your large back window.

I would love to. unfortunately, the right partial wall overlaps kitchen cabinets on the back side and would make for an awkwardly shaped cut off we were to mess with it. as for the mirrored walls, the left has a TV mounted on the backside of it and is necessary for a bit of separation. the right side drives me crazy. my husband says we should just move if we're going to start reconfiguring everything, but I think we could make it work if we find the right solution.
