Could you be more specific? Your plan already has an entry closet. If it currently exists how are you thinking you want to change it? If the current entry closet is your design, what displeases you about your chosen design?

You could extend the closet and get a second rod on the other side of the door. That would also get rid of the awkward corner in the master.

Are you able to run the closet rod along the length (90 degrees from where it is now)? It's hard to tell since there are no measurements? If not, I'd consider foregoing the entry closet and using the extra space in the Master BR.

I see. Your plan does not show current closet depth, but using the door as a visual aid it appears to be at least close to 28” in depth. If it is at least 22”-24@ in depth run the hang rod the length of the closet, making it a reach in closet rather than a step in. If the closet depth would be too shallow for hangers, by running the rod the length, then you could do two to three sleek steel hanging rods on the long back wall. This would allow stepping into closet with coats facing you. Then do shallow shoe shelf running length near floor or several on one or both of the narrow side walls. (Attached quick sketch example.) This is just a quick idea. I hope it is usable or inspires your final solution.

If I were living there I’d love a place near the front door to hang a couple coats and tuck away some shoes. I like your solution and would modify it as follows: sturdy door and hinges on closet door to support a couple of coat pegs on the back of the door itself; peg(s) on rear wall as suggested above but not protruding as far as rods; shelves filling in right section of closet for storage of shoes or purses (so now you can open door and turn right to face shelf storage). Lighting in the closet would greatly enhance its functionality.

Now modifying my own suggestion...move coat peg from rear wall to left wall. Now there is a coat peg on back of door and to your left and on right a shelf unit for shoes and accessories.

I was traveling - sorry for the delay in my response. I really appreciate your advice, especially the ideas of hanging the coat along the long wall, using side spaces for shoes, and taking advantage of the back of the door. Thank you!
