We have an above ground 27 ft and love it. What we hate is our weather. We are two adults, no kids but try to enjoy it as often as possible. We heated with solar for about 10 years but that got old. Last year we invested in a heater and fell in love. Now is the weather would cooperate. Take your time planning it because once it is there, it's not going anywhere. You want as much sun on it as possible, far from trees if possible and sink some of it if possible. We have a couple of acres and the way our land is the pool is not at eye level with the main floor. We have to go down two sets of steps to get to the pool which is fine, we have a triple level deck to accommodate the transition. Think about decking and how or if you will do it, again once there, you don't want to change anything. Think about where the pump will go and it's ease of getting to it. Also give thought to how you will close it if your in a climate that requires it. We are in SE Wisconsin so we do close and cover it.

We have no regrets with the pool. It does not require that much work or expense. We are 58 and 67 years old.

Off course, they do. An above ground pool is the best way and also the most cost effective way to enjoy the summer. We've an Intex above ground pool in our backyard and my kids really enjoy it. A Real fun for kiddos. Occasionally, We do also arrange mini summer party around our pool.

Absolutely!!! We bought ours in 1994, put a deck around the whole thing a year later.

Unfortunately as we were closing it this year, the liner got a tear as hubby was using the brush around the perimeter.... Needless to say we got our monies worth and will be putting in a new one this spring! It was only the 2nd liner and some minor rusting where the return and skimmer area are. Seems like it had a 25 year warranty.

Like two25acres said, make sure its in the sunniest part of your yard, check it at different times of the day to make sure! As well as the trees!! After 25 years I wish we could move ours before we put another one in but the deck is already there so...it is what it is. The neighbors catalpa tree has grown quite a lot in those 25 years! (UGH) but it is still do able!

Just don't go cheap and also, have rules LOL!!! Most of all enjoy! we are 61 and 59. I am retired now and after having the pool all these years... I'm not gonna, not have one now!!!

Assuming you love being outside and in a pool, go for it! Once you learn the chemical part its a piece of cake.
