Catching up on a few flowers

Forgive me if I already posted these. I was moving some pictures off my phone and though I would share. There isn't much to see now and we have been moving plants around. We lined out too late last year and had some significant loses after a nasty winter. We are hoping to avoid that this year. At the same time, we are trying to eliminate about 60--100 from the garden. It's hard to do, but with the seedlings, there is just too much to take care of.


This is Bass Gibson X God Save the Queen blooming after it was moved to a select bed.


I might have posted this before. This is my daughter's seedling, Cosmic Sensation X Sportin' Life reblooming. I think it is one of her best.


This is Fulvous Brush Man. Bob likes those fulva-looking hybrids.


The seedling Monterrey Jack X Remembered Kisses is reblooming.


This is Raspberry Tears. The seersucker effect is normal for this daylily.


It's not a daylily, but the hibiscus get going in late summer and give most welcomed flowers. We don't know the name of this one.


This is Tecoma X smithii

    Maryl, thank you for the suggestion of Cosmic Dancer as the name of our hibiscus. I looked up its picture and I believe you are right. We bought it with no name.


    The Tecoma overwinters in the greenhouse. He used to have a yellow form (Tecoma stans, I think), but got rid of it. There is just too much to get it all in the greenhouse.


    I will try to get some pictures now of the tropicals to share later. The hibiscus are really getting going now--just in time to go back into the greenhouse. Bob's gingers did not do much this year. He said it was too hot this summer and they actually need more shade. We are thinking of building a shade house for them. We had one at the previous house, but have never gotten around to building one here.


    Bob is trying to get the greenhouse ready for everything to go back inside. Unfortunately, he discovered that the gas pipe from the house to the greenhouse was corroded and spent all day yesterday working on it. It has been, fortunately for us, a very warm September. Usually by this time the super tropicals would be back in the greenhouse. Many of the tropicals don't like nighttime temps in the 40s.
