Concrete countertops are not what they are cracked up to be. They are very difficult to seal and will absorb grease and stains easily.

There is a small sink in the center island with an instantaneous hot water dispenser and a cold water tap. I was considering living with it for a while but I hate every countertop with the heat of a thousand suns -ha! The kitchen is tall and standing at a whopping 5’0” I also have an issue with the glass uppers. I don’t store anything above the second shelf. It looks a little tacky and I also need some ideas to deal with that.

I'm in favor of all drawers myself. As I age, uppers just serve no purpose except to aggravate me. Pantry pullouts are appealing too. Here's a comparison of the usefulness of shelves vs. drawers. Drawers win hand's down. If you can locate the DW and a dish drawer within easy access of the dining area it should save time/steps. Pullouts flanking the fridge look good.

IMO this kitchen needs to be dealt with now.... The countertops, hood, sinks, height of the cabinets, dishwasher all need attention before it can be used on a regular basis.

I did take mainenell’s advise and researched concrete countertops and decided on not doing them. I love the functionality of the kitchen. I and my daughter cook a lot and it is great.
