Hoya shepherdii help

I purchased this plant online and it was mailed bare root about a month ago. I soaked it overnight as it was quite dry and then potted it up in the same orchid bark mix I use for my other hoyas. It luges in a Terra cotta pot in an east window with skylights above. I do let the mix dry between watering which seems to be about 1x week. But... It still looks pretty sad to me. The leaves are very soft and leathery feeling and a few at the base are turning yellow. Are the leaves of this plant supposed to "stiff" like carnosa or is this normal? Any suggestions as to what I could do differently?
