Which red/pink clematis to get?

September 26, 2019

I have a 3 year old Hf Young in a container. It usually does well (not this year for some reason). It's companion Ville de Lyon died(it didn't perform well so good riddance) . I am looking to add a pink/red clematis to the container to replace the ville de Lyon. I would prefer one that flowers more and for the longest duration, looks good with hf young, can do well with out full day of sun (will get 6 hours) in a container. I have seen Niobe and it is too burgundish for my liking. I would also avoid purple hues as I have a Jackmanii in another container (that I am planning to pair with sweet autumn clematis,) . I am looking at bourbon, Rouge Cardinal, nubia, rosemoor, Barbara Harrington, pink champagne and princess Diana. I haven't seen any of them in person so just relying on the description. So, which one would you recommend. Also, any thoughts on the Jackmanii sweet autumn combo?
