Hello everyone,

I am planning to add 800 square foot garage that could be converted to ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) in the future. I have two options as shown in the image.

OPT#1

PROS:

- I can drive from the 2nd driveway

- No need to create any 3 points turn

CONS:

- overlap with the house about 20 feet, so when Iooking from the master bedroom, it will block the view.

- Need to replace the gravel with concrete

OPT #2

PROS:

- I can open the back wall of the existing garage and drive through

- It only blocks the view 8 feet from the living room

- I can create outside living space between the existing and proposed garage where the covered

patio.

- Small gate on its side (private entrance) In case it is converted to ADU.

- closer to the existing garage.

CONS:

need two garage door, in case If I drive from the 2nd driveway

- need 3 points turn

- Need to add concrete driveway

Please advice, what is the best option, Given that it could be converted to ADU in the future. The distance from the House to the Garage is 24 feet.
