Hawthorn Tree Zone 2

100 miles NW of Edmonton there is a thriving Hawthorn with no spurs and pink blossoms. It has been there almost forever. Seems to handle Zone 2 without any issues at all. For identification I'm relying on the internet. Is this unusual and would there be any interest at all in such a tree. It's the only one I've ever noticed.
