Are 22” Weed Eater Hedge Trimmers worth my time

Are 22” Weed Eater Hedge Trimmers worth my time to repair for use when I make it through my Neck Fusion. I had fair experiences repairing and using yearly before my fusion. During my Fusion rehab my help has not been able to give it the “Whip” to start it. I admit the Whip has to be good for it to “Think About Starting”. Can this be improved and how?? I went away from Electric for safety. I plan to omit Cordless due to trying to trim 1-2 times a year. I cannot see a Drill or Jump Start Assisting. Help!

I gave my help one of the 3 knowing they need to be used VS sitting. If your true experience is bad, please admit it and why. I have 2-3 uses that have not been good due to the “Quick Whip” to start. Thanks and Take Care! I can post Pics and Links of the Greem Machine later if needed. Last, I hope I am in the "Tool Shed" Forum!

The 2 of 3 Weed Eater Hedge Trimmers that I am keeping started fine this morning with some good Quick Whips (that my friend knew to give them). With use I feel the starting and using will get better. Hopefully I will be released in 2 months after 12 with a good bill of health. I hope they can show me I am fully fused. I will still question My Dr about the “Quick Whip Motion” as safe to start the Hedge Trimmer and Bouncing trying my Deer 92 30” Riding Mower.

I will feel it’s safe to “Flip 12” Firewood onto my log splitter to quarter. Plus, to use my Electric Chainsaws as Needed to Clean-up Firewood hauled in with help. I had logs cut in half last winter to work in my 10 lbs limit that moved to 30 lbs above the head. I feel it was above 30 lbs to my waste but I stayed at 30 lbs and 6” dia.

My friend that service small gas Engines harvest 4”-6”dia firewood. 12”-14” lengths wood for his small Fireplace and Cast Iron Chiminea. I have helped for wood up to 12” with him handling the 8-12”. We are ready for the winter with seasoned wood and wood seasoning…

Well keep at it my fusion of C5-6 was in 1991 all good to date Bud !

After 12 monts I am told I have a full fusion that I see was possibly fused at 6 momths. Something is Strange as I request a Dr visit due to being told my limits are the same as before the fusion. I am hearing "why would I want to ride a riding mower, use a chainsaw or lift over 35 lbs" vs being being told why I should not. I respect my health and I was told this was the worst of the issues in my neck. I feel there are other issue that are not as Dangerious.

Trying to move on since pushing a mower is OK I feel trimming Shrub is OK. Except the whiping motion starting might be a concern. This is why I am interested in a Mechanical Pull Start, "VS My Neighbors" that have helped with other equipment. The Very Bottom Line Is I will Sit Down If That Is My Safeist Option...

Loger , get a second opinion or another consultation with your surgeon . A properly fused neck is good as new , no limitations , you could resume gymnastics or weight lifting lol. Perhaps you have reduced disc space or additional disc issues in close proximity to your fusion that your Doctors is being cautious of within your restrictions ?
