We're not seeing the whole space, but it feels like you're creating a pass-through just a few feet from your sliding doors. Are you really going to get utility from this? It looks too close to the indoor table to be convenient for passing through trays or for hanging out to socialize. Maybe I'm missing part of your motivation for wanting it -- how you entertain, say...

I think Casements will interfere with the pass through when they are open (they extend out when open). A slider might be better here (and a lot cheaper), you'll only have half the width of the pass through though. And it will not be as energy efficient, not so great for a cold climate.

You have a pass-through that is nowhere near anything to pass from! The point of a pass-through is to save steps, but it looks like you will have to walk right past the perfectly good door to get to that window.

If it were above the counter and you could pass from the work surface to the shelf, then that might make some sense. But this is just weird. It doesn't connect the kitchen to the screened porch; the sliding door does.

No advantage to a pass-through in that location. If you need to move large amounts of (whatever) from the kitchen to the porch consider a tea trolley cart. A local cabinet shop, or a local metal shop, can build one that suits your style.

Forget the pass through IMO they are no longer someting used in most cases and in your case there is a perfectly good way to take things intot he porch taht also allows placement of furniture there to not be hampered.

We are doing this in our new build as well. We have a glider window, I think it was around $300. Casement windows would defeat the purpose of what you are wanting, if there is food sitting out on the bar then you (slowly) crank the window open it would knock the food off, get in the way of the person in the patio, etc.

I know I am late to the game but we are doing the same currently and so I would love to know what you ended up doing. I can not find a pass through window for under 4000 dollars and that is one about the size of your space.

We're in Minnesota, on the lake & use our pass through summer to fall. There's always bugs and mosquitoes, so we opted for a pair of side by side double hung windows with screens that also slide up and down.

We usually serve buffet style by setting up two or more raised 8' tables under the windows.

I am trying to find a good solution for my patio. The entire home has casement windows except the foyer which has 2 side by side 4' fixed over awning windows.

Current Casement window doesn't open completely due to the cover over the new patio addition. Would love to have a pass through from the dining area to the patio cooking area, but not sure how to solve for the window.

I had a similar discussion at a door showroom. Salesperson said she would notice if the doors in my house were not the same. But that 90% of the people would either not notice or not care or think it was interesting.
