New Rail project- to add wood handrail or not?

Hello, we are in the middle of replacing the very outdated rail in our 1965 split level (1st photonis “before”) to make it more modern. We’ve demolished the old, replaced the caps with red oak, and stained them Jacobean to match stairs and floor (second photo). We are having a new, black metal rail fabricated.
we can’t decide to leave the new rail without a top rail (all metal like the third photo) OR to place a wood rail on top (fourth photo). If so, same dark stained oak, walnut with clear coat, or light wood such as maple? Help!
