Still don’t know except the soil has some nasty spores in it and they’re happy now. Personally, if that’s the only plant affected I’d ditch it. If you have more of that potting soil I’d get rid of it too.

Potting soil that has any sort of degradable organic matter in it - peat, coir, bark fines, compost, etc. - can generate fungal organisms. Typically they will be saprophytic or only affecting the decaying organic matter and pretty much harmless to the plants.

I certainly wouldn't throw the plant away!! Just scrape the offending material off. And maybe look at your watering regime (consistently moist soil is more likely for these to occur than a faster draining, less organic mix).

Looks like the start of some mushroom (yellow). Like Gardengal said, just scrape the soil off where you see it. Not a big deal except being a little unsightly. The white chunky stuff looks more like perlite but maybe you need to observe it longer to see if it moves or grows. Water will move perlite on the surface if it is not anchored down (the reason I don't like a lot of perlite in a mix).

Thank you guys. Yes I would love to keep my baby aloe plant. Now the other thing concerning is the little 6 legged critters crawling around.

@hc mcdole correct, that white stuff is perlite. i am going to get rid of this all purpose miracle grow soil from Wal-Mart and buy some cactus type soil.
