Yes I've had bantam Silkies and still have Bantam Chocolate English Orpingtons. Bantams are usually very docile and sweet even the little roosters. The only drawback is, some of them are so tiny that they can get hurt easily. As long as yours all get along it should be okay. ♡♡

My little Bantam is a Wyandotte, and she is the sweetest, prettiest little thing, but the others, full-size hens, kind of shun her, and won’t let her eat until they’ve had their fill.

And what if my big Barred Rock rooster tries to mate with her?

I think it will be ok if the standard size roo mates with a bantam Wyandotte. I wouldnt let a regular standard size rooster mate a bantam Silkie though because Silkies have vaulted skulls. Some Silkies were bred to have higher crests and skulls and that eventually led some of them to only have a tough membrane over their brain and not even a lot of bone/skull which leaves them prone to brain injuries.

My Bantam Choc Orps have been mated on a few occasions when free ranging by a standard Lavender Orpington. No harm done but he was a nice rooster.

I would say just watch him and see. I bet they will all get along ok. Roosters usually calm down in the mating romance dept after the first year.

Lisa, Yes, it is finally a little cooler here. We actually had a few days that felt like fall this past week. Olivia is one of the few roses that bloomed right through our horrid hot summer.

This morning I went out to water stuff and found that same frog in the now spent Olivia blossom but now the frog has two new friends!!! lol..How many frogs can fit on a rose bloom?

LOVE your chickies, Sultry! Our Silkies finally started laying this summer, and I sure didn't expect the eggs to be so small! Good thing they are friendly little companions in the garden, or they may have been re-homed. LOL! Your blooms are lovely, as always! I'm hoping for some blooms now that our weather has cooled. Nice new red growth on a lot of my babies. :)

My Silkies and Key West chickens lay such tiny eggs. It seems like maybe they would be good for making Pickled Eggs. Ive never tried eating Pickled Eggs though, so I have no clue if thats a good thing or not lol.

Another Earth Angel cluster with a Peek a Boo frog ..one can just see his little nose peeking out behind the center rosebud lol. They blend in sooo well.

I have standard sized chickens but just love the little bantams.

Its been a long hot summer and hard on the chickens and ducks. We had a bunch of raccoon damage and roof rat damage to our coops so we are re-doing the floors and some of the nest boxes, plus putting up Solar hot wire fencing for the first time (I just know I'm gonna zap myself lol)..its cheaper than fixing coops all the time. It seems all our nieghbors have hot wire around their coops so the raccoons stay busy over here chewing through ours grrr.

My DH thinks I’m a little crazy with how I triple reinforced everything on our coop and run, but I’ve seen what coons & rats can do...and I would just rather do the extra work than find surprises in the morning.

I've read about the solar fences—sounds like a great plan! :-)

Perma, we are next to woods and a small river branch so we have a unusually high number of predators here. Hungry desprerate ones, apparently. They chewed straight through 3/4 inch plywood roofs (not particle board or compressed wood) that were covered with tar paper and roll roofing. I had to start covering the roofs with corrugated metal sheets. Then they started chewing on nestboxes. They would get on top of them and hang over and chew a corner until they got through. They also chewed on a few corners of coops which were 2x4 treated wood frames. I had one dig under and chew up through the flooring near a corner.

Plywood is expensive to keep repairing so we are finally investing in hot wire.

This will also stop the neighborhood roaming dogs which we had break into the runs and also our rabbit hutches and kill many. I love dogs but some people around here just let mean ones run wild.

One day, I was in my fenced garden area and a huge dog came in the yard and growled and barked at me through the fence. He wouldnt let me leave. I even sprayed him with the hose. It was like Cujo lol. Thank God for the gate. I was literally trapped in there lol. I had to call my dh in the house, on my phone so he could chase it off!

OMG, that is adorable !!! i have about two inch tree frogs but your's are smaller. mine keep jumping on me and scaring me .especially when i am watering my roses. they always get me every time and laid 6 times in my pool. i have zillions of tadpoles and the explosion of frogs from nowhere. rainy seasons will be over soon.

Lol, yes, I remember Im your rose guinea pig and you're mine haha. I have 3 regular Edens, one White Eden, & one Pretty In Pink Eden. Im guessing you want to know about the original variety?

Of the original Eden Variety:

I have one own root and 2 grafted on Doc Huey. One of the grafted ones came from Edmunds and the other from David Austin.

The DA Eden is doing much better than the other two. Its about 8ft and gets repeat blooms but it blooms best in spring. They all get a little blackspot on them. I bet Eden on Fortuniana would be even a healthier better bloomer.

I love Spirit of Freedom more than Eden. It blooms better, climbs, disease free, smells lovely. Its great in Florida and it hasn't balled here.

Jin the main green colored treefrogs we have here are the American Green Treefrog and the Squirrel Treefrog. The Squirrel are smaller than the American Green frogs. They will both live together peacefully.

I have a variety of sizes at any given time because so many babies of both species hatch out in my waterlily and lotus water tubs. They jump right out and get into the trees and plants around them. They eat lots of bugs too.

Once they lose the tail.. next to my pinky nail (photo is enlarged). I think this is a Squirrel Treefrog. They are tiny at first.

Jin, I did get Colette but its still in a one gallon pot. It has bloomed a few times and is also trying to climb. I have it against a fence. I still need to get it a trellis. The leaves are very green and healthy. It is 'Own Root'.

I got my Colette from an etsy seller called Fresh Garden Living or something like that. I also got my White eden from her. She sells nice healthy band size roses that grow quickly.

I also wondered about SoFl Rose. I hope she is doing okay. She has such great roses and advice.

Witherspoon told me that she will perform very well here. I am happy that it is doing well for you. There is a red rose called Lady in Red which i also like but Colette was highly recommended to me.
