LLG - is upstate NY... it is probably cold and they are charging extra for termoinsulation. I would do my research and order in spring. Plus - they will be posting their new varieties in January. Yummy!

Irina, you always provide consistent, great advice. The Lyon's leave usually took an extra day in the mail due to distance. I sometimes soak the leaves I get from Lyon's for an hour before sticking, then dome them. A woman who worked there suggested that. I had consistent success with Lyon's leaves than from other suppliers. Joanne

Betina, Suggest going for a few older Lyndon Lyon's varieties in solid colors or Russians, which they also sell, until you get the hang of it.

Fancy Bloomers also offers her own hybrids, which are vigorous.

Joanne - I try - but senior moments happen more often every year. I am here with you about LLG plants and leaves. Quality stuff.

For practice - better use the leaves from our own plants - you take it off the plant - you stick it in - and it will grow like a champ. The longer the leaves are in transit - the longer it will take them to catch up. With time - leaf starts dying...

Just a reminder - you order leaves from multicolor varieties - doesn't matter - Russian or from this side of the pond - try to grow all babies to bloom - there will be some young plants that won't bloom true. Sports make good presents!

I’ve mastered starting babies from leaves of my violets! They are all from the same NOID (except the purple one) my grandma gave me years ago! I’ve grown enough to give violets away at my brother’s wedding as party favors! Ready for some other varieties! :)
