Blues and teal go better with gray accents, not brown, so be careful all your choices blend well. Budget will help determine your countertop. If it's on the low end, look at Wilsonart's new Smooth Silk series that is their newest laminate line most closely simulating natural stone as anything else they have. You'll need a drop-in sink wherever you use laminate countertops. You can also get the new edge profiles to match which help the laminate counters look more like natural stone edges. Granite isn't all that expensive compared to laminate these days, so that's a close runner-up for budget and a great value for what you get if you select a lower-level granite.

If you're really overwhelmed, it might be time to call in some help by hiring a designer to sit down with you and your daughter and offer suggestions. Also, nothing matches getting away from the computer for a while and going to some actual home design stores and looking through the product offerings in person. Sometimes you'll see pieces you know will work that way, and it will all begin to come together. If you have a local ProSource, start there, because the prices will be almost unbeatable.

Best wishes on your renovation. I'm sure you will all enjoy it when its done, and as a daughter who has had my mom help me out many times with various moves getting my house livable, I know your daughter and granddaughter appreciate all your effort.

Are you working with a general contractor, kitchen designer, or both?

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Have you saved any photos of kitchens you like? That’s the first step.

IMO you are in over your head so some help would be a good idea. Wall color and backsplash should wait until the end . Who is installing the cabinets? What is her budget? BTW I like browns and blues together but not a big lover of teal in LRS. If you decide to remove those walls for the fridge you will open a whole can of worms since those walls are attached to the archway. Not sure how the fridge relates to the rest of the kitchen looks like lots of wasted space in the kitchen corners Have the cabinets already been ordered?

Please listen to those advising you to seek help at this point. I don’t even understand that kitchen layout or how it fits into your home. You need a fully formed plan and an overall look you are striving to achieve. Slow down and do this right or you will be kicking yourself later. Personally, I’d strive for very versatile fixed items and incorporate color elsewhere. It may be boring to choose, but will give you the most timeless look!

For color advice, it's good to have someone actually in the space with you. It also depends on her furniture, unless she is purchasing all new. I have heard that house stagers can be a reasonably priced option for this, as opposed to an interior designer or decorator, for smaller jobs like this.

Or use a popular neutral like BM's Edgecomb Gray, which is a not really gray but more a grayish beige. It's used extensively where I live when the whole house is painted the same color for resale. It goes well with a lot of colors such as the grayish brown flooring you have selected.

Thank you so much so far everyone!! I am working with a general contractor.
The large wall to that box the refrigerator goes in
    It is load bearing.
I am going to compare The Wilson art/Granite/ and quartz because there are so many places that sell granite.
I can’t wait to go get a sample of the BM paint color!
    Thank you everyone
    Keep the ideas coming❤️

Teals and Blues do work well together with Brown's and Beiges. It is all about what shades. Grey is the trendy neutral now. Look for harder to change finishes like cabinets, tile and flooring in colors that can work with either cool greys and warm browns. Then you can easily change furnishing and paints later.
That refrigerator niche looks like only the beam of the long wall would be load bearing so you might could open those shallow side walls. They have to check above in the attic to know for sure Or could it become a great pantry? Plan for function first then worry about colors. but a plain white primer coat might help you visualize the space better.

Where does that door in the kitchen go? My first thought is that I would not want a stove by a door, seems potentially dangerous. I would rather flip the stove w the sink unless I am missing something. Although, then I guess you have ventilation issues..... Looks like you ripped out a wall. You could put 2sided cabinets below for extra storage, this is how we access the corner area of our kitchen, no wasted space. You will need to consider electric needs, i am not certain one middle of the room light for a kitchen will be adequate, you may need over the counter lighting. Cabinet knobs or pulls don’t need to be first priority. If you have big outlet type stores, like end runs of tile, or used building supply places they may provide you with some less costly materials.

Can you post more photos? The floor plan is confusing. Where is the fridge niche as compared to the peninsula where the sink is? Do you have to go around the peninsula to get to the fridge? That would be a problem. If that is the case, I would lose the peninsula and put in an island going in the opposite direction to improve flow. Do you need the kitchen door, and/or can you put some french doors in the adjoining room? The colors you are choosing are lovely. Browns and grays work equally well with blue and teal. I prefer the lighter brown flooring. Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue, or BM Quiet Moments are both nice colors that are a blue/green/gray. I'd keep cabinets white, and if the budget allows go with a light quartz. LG Viatera Minuet is a lovely quartz that is very soft and looks very much like marble. If not, then try to see if budget will allow for a light granite. Even Absolute Black granite in a honed finish will work. Cabinet hardware can be either chrome, nickel or brushed brass. Believe it or not, Home Depot has some nice hardware from Martha Stewart at a great price. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-Canopy-3-in-76mm-Center-to-Center-Bedford-Brass-Cup-Drawer-Pull-P20633C-474-CP/202241351. Post more pictures so we can see more.

OP please do not assume a contractor is a designer and especially not a KD I keep saying get some help before this just overwhelms you and you start making poor decisions.

I am confused. Is the fridge not actually going to be in the kitchen?

@Patricia Colwell Consulting... I put a period in the comment box... making it look empty, as a way to follow the thread and see the progress. I just thought instead of using the word "following" it was acceptable. I didn't realize it was unacceptable. Thanks for letting me know.

Even tho these conversations are happening on a computer screen, it Is kind of like someone standing in a dark corner observing but saying nothing, and it does seem weird.
