Other than the light fixture I think you are fine. Black and white buffalo checks, vintage looking linens and accessories will give that feel.

    What is "farmhouse style"?

Your kitchen should be easy to get a farm house look to. A few braided or rag rugs on the floor and farm house accessories and it will start to look like a farmhouse. I cant see if you have area for a table or not. If so, add a farmhouse style table too. Here is a link, to give you a few ideas. Have fun with it. https://www.countryliving.com/home-design/decorating-ideas/g4263/rustic-farmhouse-kitchen-ideas/?slide=5

    Define farmhouse style.

This looks quite farmhouse to me, in the sense that it looks much like my grandmother’s kitchen in the house she has lived in on her farm for 70 years.

I suspect you have a mental image of farmhouse that isn’t so much like an actual farmhouse, though (since those vary widely), so if you have any images you can share to give an idea of what you want, that would help others help you.

Sonce we're only two, I'd opt for a counter depth fridge, and stop ther for a few months.
Your kitchen is workable, and a big, blank white slate.

Congratulations on your new place! Pretty kitchen and looks like you have a great base to build upon for your sense of style. Though I was born and raised in Chicago...when I think farmhouse style I think of wood...perhaps a butcher block in the center of the kitchen, just large enough for a cheese platter and a half dozen glasses of wine or beer on it. Swap out that ceiling fixture and install a matte black chandelier...they’re ubiquitous and quite seasonable in price...you’ll need to cook something that smells great for the hubby while he does the switcheroo. Farmhouse means practical elegance in my mind...burlap/linen fabric curtains if you live in a warmer climate or something more substantial (wool or canvas) for those of us above the 45th. Usable but pretty ceramics, an herb garden in pots, and a great painting...or even something printed on canvas...of a cow...a duck...or any farm animal that’s super cute but the colors are rich and meaningful. Keep the clean pallet you have and just add a bit of texture and warmth oh...and music with friends. I think then your kitchen will become a bit more of what you hope it will be.

    >>>Define farmhouse style.

cpartist, according to my last exasperated decorator — well, not mine, but sent by our realtor to prep & stage our house for sale — Farmhouse Style is what you see on the Chip & Joanna Gaines show. She said it had become ubiquitous amongst many of the 30-somethings couples looking for their second or third homes. It was rather hilarious seeing her attempt to stage our solidly-colonial home to meet the criteria. Lots of gray, lots of subway tile, black light fixtures, etc. She said she was going to rip her hair out if anybody said the word “farmhouse“ once more in her presence. I think she was tired of it, and our boatload of 18th c. furniture pushed her over the edge.

Which elements are you planning to keep? I suggest a wood or wood look floor to start. Different hardware/handles.

Do you have an inspiration picture of what you are aiming for, of what you like?
