Trying to figure out what to do with the luaun doors in my 80s house. Some are in great condition, while others are ... I'll be honest, completely trashed. I may just use a Pinterest idea and place corking and trim on the damaged surfaces, turning the surfaces into bulletin boards that my family can utilize/decorate. However, i honestly can't stand the medium, orangy-brown color of them all. I'm curious whether it's possible to apply a light glaze to them to soften/adjust the color to more of a cooler tone but still allow the pattern of the grain to show through. I have 5 kids. I understand how forgiving wood grains are vs. solid colors, as well as medium vs. light/dark, but I would really appreciate a minor color change if at all possible. Suggestions on how to do this successfully? Not sure that anything would stick without your everyday primer, but I'm not much of a DIYer, so maybe there are supplies or techniques I'm unaware of....
