We have 2 perlicks, one has a dual tap the other is for soda and stuff. We’ve had them for about 12 years now and they are great except...you can’t store anything citrus in them, it will corrode the coils. My bad I guess. The only difficulty we had was finding someone to fix it. Perlick is made in the same state we reside, didn’t think it would ever be an issue but many service providers are so busy servicing commercial units that we were low on the list...something to check out before you purchase one. SubZero is way more common I guess and I have no experience with them so can’t speak to pros/cons. So, my perlicks are easy to clean, quiet and though they are built in, they roll out easily to clean behind. I love them but wish I had known about the citrus issue. I thought for a commercial fridge in the food industry , they’d be nearly indestructible. I’m so nervous now, I don’t even store lemons and limes in sealed containers, only for a party. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for that citrus observation. I don't think I've ever stored citrus in my two Perlicks (one wine reserve; other refrigerator), but now I will avoid doing so, even though I remain amazed at this issue even happening. Are your two Perlicks Signature models or the other models?

@kaseki I was amazed as well. When I asked the repair guy why it happened, he asked if I kept lemons/limes in the fridge (it’s in or beverage center) and said that was most likely culprit. Not sure what model they are...just know those little buggers cost me over $5G a piece. If I ever sell my current home...they’re coming with me...

Very very disappointed with the longevity of our Perlick unit. When we paid top dollar for a commercial grade unit “the best on the market” according to our salesman, we anticipated it would last a long while. It was an under counter beverage center—held wine and beer in our bar area, so not used daily. It continually froze up and after spending three months screwing around with Perlick trying to get a repairman, we finally found one on our own. We learned today that the coil is not only out of stock, but also not covered by warranty. Sad that a company doesn’t stand by their product. This should have lasted longer than 3.5 years. Will never consider purchasing the brand again.
