Gold Standard is Paul's Glory twin. I've seen other hosta people (besides myself) unable to tell the two apart. After careful examination I decided PG leaves are more (rugose?) bumpy. PG looks great this time of year but not pure golden like GS.

i would have thought it was leaf thickness .....

My tape measure doesn't measure micrometers.

A mature Paul's Glory will be taller and wider than a mature GS, GS is on the small end of large or the large end of medium, PG is definitely a large hosta. There has been a lot of mis-labelling of these two plants, which might account for the apparent similarities.

Thanks tj for the comparison photo. They look nothing alike to me. Paul's Glory did very well for me, but Gold Standard didn't ever do well. I finally tossed it. Maybe it didn't like a pot.

Outside. Looks more interesting in the winter. oh yeah, I have had this comment: 'Hey, your hydrangea is still blooming' they exclaim in wide-eyed amazement!!!'
